About

Indus Design School

Indus Design School (IDS) was established to fill a crucial gap in India’s education landscape: credible, structured, hands‑on design learning. Rooted in Ahmedabad’s cultural richness and historical depth, IDS offers an immersive learning environment where craft and contemporary creativity meet seamlessly.

Students at IDS benefit from a dynamic curriculum that includes not only core design disciplines—Interior, Product, Communication, Fashion—but also cross-disciplinary modules and study tours (local, national, and global). A three-credit integration module unites students across all design areas. Our futuristic approach employs cutting-edge methods—from parametric form design in interiors to scientific fabric culturing in fashion and experiential, anthropological practices in communication

Our Vision

Indus Design School (IDS) pioneers a design philosophy that bridges decolonization and globalization, embracing “techno‑chic futurism” alongside intrinsic, value‑based humanism. At the heart of our ethos lies the GLOCAL model—integrating global design best practices with indigenous, culturally profound sensibilities.

We champion democratized design accessible, community‑driven, and inclusive.

Our Mission

At Indus Design School (IDS), we invite every student to make mistakes and learn from them. We emphasize process-driven learning—where exploration, experimentation, and peer collaboration matter more than perfection.

Our commitment to “learning‑by‑doing” begins from day one. Students engage in hands‑on projects, supported by experienced faculty and state-of-the-art
resources.
